The Ridge Runner by Out on a Limb Mfg.
This platform measures in at 16” X 8” and weighs right around 56 ounces. Like the Podium, The Ridge Runner is all aluminum and coated in a very durable anti-skid finish. This platform uses a cam over system with a pull strap much like the Podium. The Ridge Runner will have a few improvements that will help make the entire setup quicker, quieter and even safer.
The Ridge Runner is notched all along the circumference of the platform to increase traction and to help the overall ability. Another new feature will be the leveling system. Instead of using two individual knobs like the Podium, the Ridge Runner uses a single larger leveling knob for an easier adjustment.
NOTE: All Ridge Runner orders will come equipped with the updated longer knob as well as ONE pull strap.

Why The RIDGE RUNNER Saddle Hunting Platform?
Advantages Of Saddle Hunting
- Extremely Lightweight Tree Saddles: Tree Saddles are lightweight, making you more mobile. Perfect for the Public Land Owner! Make sure to check out our new Ultra-Light saddle hunting steps for the ultimate lighweight hunting pack.
- Little to no noise: With tree saddle, you don’t get the noise typically associated with pulling up tree stands.
- Hunters Safety: While there have been lots of hunters who have fallen from conventional tree stands, when saddle hunting you are tethered to the tree from the moment you leave the ground until you step back on it after the hunt, making it almost impossible to fall.

Ordered the ridge runner at the end of deer season. Made three hunts out of it. It’s a very solid built and comfortable platform. My ONLY complaint is that I could not get it to snug against any of the trees I used it in. Will change out the straps and see if that helps. Definitely happy with my purchase.
This platform is the perfect run and gun platform. It’s light weight, compact, and easy to use on a lot of trees via the adjustment knob. I purchased this platform towards the end of the 20-21 deer archery season but I can already tell it will be a valuable tool. It’s big enough for all day sits and compact enough to pack in on a long hike to your hunting spot.
Once you get used to how to put on tree correctly, with very little practice you can be confident that it is rock solid.
Well made, solid on a tree. Sold my predator platform. Good as it gets!!!
Shamelessly admitting this is the 3rd time I bought the Ridge Runner platform. Tried several others on the market and they were good too, but they didn’t quite check all my boxes like the Ridge Runner does. So coming full circle, the Ridge Runner was my first ever saddle platform and I’ve come back to it and settled on it now for the long haul. Third time is a charm! It’s the perfect balance of size, weight, packability, and gives you the ability to lean or stand if you need to and it doesn’t care how wide or skinny the diameter of the tree is. I also like supporting Matt and his company and an American made product like this. I’ve been slowly migrating all my major hunting gear pieces to all American made products. Highly recommended!
The platform is awesome! I feel completely safe compared to (cast metal) other platforms. This thing is rock solid when correctly mounted. Built to last and top quality as usual from OOAL!!
Solid platform with plenty of room to stand. Holds up very well to side pressure and easy to cam to tree. Will never go back to my climber again.
The quality of construction is outstanding. The issue I’m having is with securing it to the tree. I tighten down as hard as I can with the strap they included, but it’s never tight enough to counter my weight. Only the bottom 2/3 teeth are in the tree, so it moves a lot. This may be how all small platforms are, idk. I have since tried mounting with a ratchet strap and that has proven to be a solid work around. I am having trouble finding a permanent strap with a soft loop on both sides for easy mounting.
New to saddle hunting, I am in metal fabrication myself, it's a well built product, thanks
Platform is super solid. Doesn’t budge even the slightest when camed over properly
