The Big BOB is the first one-stick to be equipped an adjustable top platform. This super solid one-stick allows the user to find the most comfortable angle possible to ensure a longer sit when it matters most. The Big BOB also includes an attached pull up cable, which is optimum for an efficient climb. This one-stick is the perfect fit to round out your saddle hunting kit.

Benefits of the One Stick Climbing Method

The one stick climbing method for saddle hunting has major advantages over using multiple tree stand climbing sticks. From the lack of weight to less gear clutter and noise, One sticking is a great climbing method for both saddle hunters and tree stand hunters looking to stay efficient, mobile, and light.

Weight Savings: One of the biggest reasons most hunters switch to the one stick climbing method is becuase of the weight savings. Depending on where and how you hunt, saving those extra pounds/ounces can be important.

Less Noise: Less gear means less chance for unwanted noise. Stealth strip a B.O.B. or SH1KAR and pair it with a 3 step climbing stick aider and there won't be a tree you can't conquer.

Climb Higher: While not always neccessary, the one stick climbing method will let you climb higher to saddle hunt. The only limit is the ammount of tree you have to climb or the ammount of safety rope you brought with you.

    OMG!! The BOB exceeded my expectations. There’s absolutely nothing I’d do differently with this one stick! I added a two step aider, should have gone three but not a huge deal. Thinking of a one stick, this is the one to get!

    Awesome one stick. Love the way you can adjust the top down for leaning, and then flat for when you sit. Once it’s set on the tree it’s rock solid. A+ setup.

    I had been waiting to buy the big bob for quite some time because I'm on a budget and make what I have work...well I finally decided to get the big bob...and the only question I have is why did I wait so long...worth every penny and is now my primary hunting aid!

    I ordered the B.I.G BOB after using the mini shikar for a year. I was totally impressed. The stick has it all I absolutely love it. I ended up buying a second one to have or just in case a buddy need to use one. The only issue I have is the screw to the cam cleat catches the top pull cord so you have to stick your finger in to loosen it so you can push the cord back down.

    This is the best stick/platform combo I have come across. The ability to tilt the platform and also to cam it down on the tree to make it rock solid is a game changer. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the bottom screw that holds the cam cleat a little longer so the bottom end of the grab cable loop can't slip over it making it difficult to slide back down without inserting something into the post to lift it back over. Otherwise, it is perfection and the best option on the market for one stick climbing.

    I like how well this big bob hold tight to the tree feels really good an safe ,,,my only complaint would be the 8 weeks it took to be delivered,,,but it is a good one stick an worth the wait

    Awesome piece, it takes a little bit of practice but once you get fluent with it, you won’t hardly use anything else.

    My first ooal product, won't be my last. This thing is SOLID! 340# and no sag, no bend, no nothing. This thing is a beast, Matt makes the best gear around. And customer service is second to none.

    I started saddle hunting a year ago but this year I started one sticking. This big bob platform is night and day game changer when it comes to saddle hunting. This is the best thing I’ve ever bought when it comes to hunting

Is the Big B.O.B. considered a one-stick?
Yes, the BIG B.O.B. is what we consider a one-stick. This “One-Stick” is often used by itself to climb the tree and as a platform (although not technically considered one).
Can the Big B.O.B. be used as a platform?
While we do not classify the BIG B.O.B as a platform, it can be used in a similar fashion.
How does the Big B.O.B. handle side pressure?
The BIG B.O.B. was designed to handle all types of pressure applied at different angles, especially side pressure.
Should I cam over the Big B.O.B. when attaching to the tree?
NO!!! DO NOT CAM THE BIG B.O.B. It is not meant to be hung like this. To secure the Big B.O.B., simply attach it to the tree like you would any normal climbing stick. No need to cam, although by raising platform slightly, slide stick down slightly then fold platform down, secures stick to the tree. Do not tighten amsteel with platform up as damage could occur to stick itself.
Do people use SHIKARs with the Big B.O.B.?
While not technically a platform. Some hunters do use the Big B.O.B. with other SHIKAR climbing sticks, both Standard and FXD versions.
What straps are recommended for attaching the Big B.O.B.?
We recommend using 1/8” or 3/16” Full Bury Amsteel paired with a Harken Cam Cleat for the most secure and easy to use attachment method.
Can I use a climbing stick aider with the Big B.O.B.?
Yes, the Big B.O.B. and all other one-sticks and climbing sticks are designed to use our 1, 2 or 3 step aider. You can find those here.
